Through the hosting of seed exchange events, education around seed saving and regenerative agriculture, and supporting local food producers in reaching local markets, the SLV Seed Exchange’s mission is to inspire and actualize our community to become more resilient and food secure.

Funding

While this event is free to the community, it does cost time, energy and money to organize and host.

Here are some of the ways we use the money we raise through sponsorships, grants, vendor booth fees and any donations that are not given during the event (as the ‘day of’ donations go to a regional youth gardening project.)

Please consider making a tax-deductible donation to our work so we can continue to provide a free and valuable event to our community … in the spirit of food sovereignty.

  • We provide our speakers an honorarium for their expertise, travel and time.
  • Advertising to get the word out about our events
  • Spanish interpretation
  • Videography (recording, editing and publishing) of our Speaker Series
  • Website hosting and maintenance
  • We don’t do it yet, but we’d like to provide our event coordinators with stipends for their effort and time
