2023 Seed Exchange Review

The 2023 event seemed to be a great success. We had over 200 attendees each day. Our speakers appreciated the venue. The vendors sold their wares and we’ve received lots of accolades since the event. The weather was nice and sunny.

Tacos Martinez offered up their delicious street tacos. The Joyful Journey kitchen staff made wraps with local ingredients which were a hit. Mix Mobile Elixir Bar from Crestone was offering warm and cold drinks.

We raise $690 in donations to give to the Mountain Valley School Community Garden in Sagauche, CO. Tylor and Danielle Berreth of Alpine Valley Mushrooms will be stewarding the garden this season.

Plan to come back next year ~ March 30th & 31st, 2024 at Joyful Journey Hot Springs Spa!

Tylor Berreth gave a talk an inspiring talk about cultivating mushrooms in your garden, even in the high desert.

Jared Hagood of Lineage Seeds had a beautiful booth in the Joyful Event Center, where he displayed his hand made clay seed pots and bounty of seed he has cultivated and saved over the years.

Laura Parker of High Desert Seed + Garden made a beautiful presentation on her journey of seed saving and showed pictures of her time in India. She also had a lovely booth with seeds and tea towels for sale.

Cherie Allen and Jae Sanders have been making this event happen since 2019, with the tremendous support of Joyful Journey Hot Springs Spa.
